With one of the greatest locations available in the country, Camp Wakpominee is the place to be for summer camp. Located on over 1,000 acres in the Adirondack Park of Upstate New York, Camp Wakpominee has overlook views of Lake George and boasts it's own lake for boating and swimming.
Our week long resident camp offers an excellent traditional Boy Scout program with a wide range of rank advancement and merit badge opportunities. The camp also serves as the Council's high adventure base for canoe and backpacking Treks for those older Scouts who want to explore the Adirondacks.
The camp also makes a great destination if you are looking for a weekend camping experience in the Adirondack Park. Whether it is in camp activities such as hiking, compass work, cross-country skiing, fishing, or if you are looking for a "home base" while exploring the local area.
"Every summer I'd go with my Boy Scout Troop as a Scout to Wakpominee. It's an excellent scout camp in the Adirondacks. The staff is great. The food is awesome. You will always walk away with lasting memories and experiences."
"Excellent camp, not that hard to get from one area to the other. Staff has a sort of energy that lifts everyone up and are also very knowledgeable. Close enough to Lake George that it isn't a long drive but remote enough so that it feels like you are cut off from the rest of society. Overall great camp."
"Camp Wakpominee is a beautiful place to go camping for any Boy Scout. Everyone is friendly, the staff welcome any new Scout into their community, and everyone forms a close bond by the end of the week. If any Scout is debating whether or not to go to Camp Wakpominee, he will love it there and come back any time he can, or even work there!"
"Outstanding camp. Solid program, good food, phenomenal staff!"
